How we work

Indian sandstone is one I get asked about constantly, it is a material I have used on more jobs than I can count, and when it is laid correctly it ages beautifully in the Essex climate.

For customers who want something more uniform and lower maintenance, porcelain is the sensible choice. We bed it on a full mortar bed using a minimum 10:1 sharp sand and cement ratio to prevent lippage and long-term movement.

Liscannor flagstone comes up occasionally too, usually on more traditional gardens where the customer wants real character underfoot. It is not always the easy option, however it rewards the effort.

Beyond the patio itself

A lot of our work runs further than the patio edge. Fencing, walling, turfed lawns and artificial grass all get the same care and attention to levels and drainage that the paving does.
