We’ve been doing this long enough to know that a poorly laid base causes every problem that follows. Water pools. Slabs shift. Joints crack open. Getting the sub-base right from the start is what separates a patio that lasts a decade from one that needs lifting after two winters.

Right, one thing that sharpens you up fast is working near coastal environments. Coastal salt exposure and sea-spray, the kind you get close to areas like Howth Head, teaches you that certain materials and mortars just won’t hold up without the proper spec. We carry that same attention to materials into every job we do here in Essex.

The materials we use are sourced properly. None of that sure-it’ll-be-grand approach to speccing out a job. Porcelain needs a full-bed adhesive fix. Sandstone needs sealing. Artificial grass needs drainage built in underneath, not just rolled out on bare soil. We know the difference, and we do it right.
