Thornton Le Moors Builders

Building work that actually needs doing

Roof’s leaking. Walls cracking. Extension plans sitting in a drawer. We deal with those problems every day, working out of Thornton Le Moors, Cheshire, across the surrounding area including Ellesmere Port, Chester and Helsby.

We’re a building contractor that gets stuck into the full scope of structural work. No subbing out the jobs we don’t fancy. We handle everything ourselves, from the groundworks up.

What we take on

  • Extensions and full renovations
  • New builds from foundations to roof
  • Structural alterations and load-bearing work
  • Brickwork and blockwork
  • Groundworks, drainage and foundations
  • Loft conversions and garage conversions
  • Plastering, rendering and external finishes
  • General building maintenance and repairs

How we actually work

We price the job properly before we start. No vague estimates that balloon halfway through. You know what you’re paying, and we know what we’re building. It sounds straightforward because it is.

Groundworks is where most projects go wrong, and we don’t cut corners there. Foundations done right means everything above them sits solid. We work with concrete, masonry block and facing brick across all our structural builds.

And when it comes to external finishes, we do a lot of K Rend work, rendering the exterior of houses to a clean, weatherproof finish that lasts. It’s one of those jobs that transforms how a property looks, though the real point is keeping water out.

Areas we cover

We’re based in Thornton Le Moors and we cover CH1, CH2 and the wider Cheshire West postcode area. Most of our work comes through word of mouth from previous customers, which keeps us honest.

Extensions take planning. Loft conversions take care. However straightforward a job looks on paper, there’s usually something underneath that needs thinking through. We’ve been doing this long enough to expect the unexpected.
