A wet summer will find out any patio fast

Rain does that. I grew up watching Irish rainfall carve channels through badly laid flags, and falls set wrong mean standing water every single time. That experience stays with you. It is why I take drainage and falls seriously on every job we do here in Essex.

We are based in Takeley and we cover the surrounding area. Patios are the core of what we do, and we work across a solid range of surfacing materials.

What we install

Every surface type handles differently. Porcelain is dense and needs the right adhesive bed. Sandstone wants a clean, stable base or it will rock within a season. Concrete flags are straightforward but only when the sub-base is properly compacted. We do not cut corners on any of it.

Beyond patio surfaces, we also take on fencing work. Timber panels, posts set properly in concrete, the full job. It is honest, solid work. We put up garden walling too, which a lot of people want running alongside a new patio to finish the space off properly.

Lawns and grass

If the garden needs more than hard landscaping, we can help there as well. We lay roll-on turf for a proper lawn (the kind that actually beds in and takes root when you water it right) and we install artificial grass for areas where low maintenance matters more than anything else.

Most of our work comes from word of mouth around CM22 and the neighbouring villages. I do not need much else. A Ballyboden St Enda’s man once told me a good job speaks louder than any advertisement. He was right. However, a listing does no harm.
