Portmarnock Guttering
Portmarnock Guttering
Who we are
: Portmarnock, north County Dublin. That’s where we’re based, and that’s mostly where we work, though we cover a fair stretch of the northside too.
We’ve been dealing with blocked runs, failed joints, sagging brackets, and cracked downpipes long enough to know what corners get cut by other crews. We don’t cut them.
What do we actually do?
Good question. Here’s the bulk of it:
- Full gutter replacement and new installations in uPVC and aluminium seamless profiles
- Cast iron gutter restoration where it’s worth saving
- Downpipe repair, replacement, and proper masonry fixing, including downpipe back plate masonry fixing where the substrate needs it
- Soffit and fascia replacement in uPVC, including ogee and square-line profiles
- Leaf guards and gutter mesh fitted to existing runs
- Hopper heads, rainwater diverters, and water butt connections
- Re-aligning and re-spacing brackets to restore proper fall
Half the jobs we get called to could’ve been avoided with a decent bracket spacing and a bit of fall on the run. We see it constantly, up around the roads near the Clontarf Fire Station area and across the coastal stretches into Malahide. Poorly pitched gutters are grand until the rain comes sideways off the Irish Sea. And then they’re not grand at all.
Can you work in winter or when it’s raining?
Mostly yes. Repairs to fascia boards or bracket fixings are fine in dry spells through the winter. We won’t seal joints or bond anything in lashing rain because it simply won’t cure properly. However, if you’ve got an urgent leak doing damage, we’ll get up and at least make it watertight temporarily until conditions allow a full fix.
